Luke 1:39-45
The Big Question: Will you recognize God’s Work?
- Expect God to work.
- We should expect God to work, but we should never expect to be in control of that work.
- John 3:8, “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
- Miracles are works of God’s grace, not products of careful planning.
- Even God’s miraculous works are often accompanied by mundane acts of obedience.
- Play your part.
- God’s work is not always in line with your expectations.
- Proximity is not a predictor of God’s particular plan for YOUR life.
- John and Jesus shared much in common, but they each had two distinct plans from the Lord.
- But, you have to play your part. Never forget that John understood his part in the kingdom according to John 3:30 was to decrease so that Jesus’s influence might increase.
- Never lose sight of the goal.
- The gospel is the goal.
