The God of the Storm

Luke 8:22-25

TBQ: So what if the wind blows?

1. Be led by Jesus.
   1. Wait for the Lord’s direction.
2. Don’t be surprised by the storms.
   1. The presence of Jesus is no guarantee against the storms of life.
      1. SIDENOTE: Be lead by the Savior. There is a real possibility that we can use the right words and still have the wrong heart. The disciples called him Master, acknowledging him as the authoritative leader of the group, but they did not recognize him fully.
   2. If Jesus leads you to it, he will carry you through it.
3. Depend on the Word of the Savior!
   1. God’s silence is not ignorance nor indifference.
      1. Mark’s account of this gives us an additional detail in 4:38, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”
   2. His word is sufficient to calm the storms around you.
